Prosecution Research Collaborative

In December 2021, the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), in partnership with CNA’s Center for Justice Research and Innovation (CNA), received funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to establish the Prosecution Research Collaborative (PRC).

The PRC was created to expand the use of evidence-informed practices that improve public safety and build trust in communities across the nation.

Goals
  • Strengthen Public Safety by reviewing existing research, identifying best practices, and producing resources that complement prosecutorial initiatives focused on violent crime reduction.
  • Close Research Gaps by identifying areas where more study is needed and ensuring prosecutors have access to data-driven strategies.
  • Provide Direct Support by offering short-term, in-depth research assistance to prosecutors’ offices facing increased crime, helping them make better-informed decisions.
Advisory Board

The PRC was guided by an advisory board of experts, including academics, prosecutors, law enforcement professionals, and service providers. The group brought critical experience and perspective to ensure that the collaborative’s work was practical, grounded, and impactful.

The National District Attorneys Association remains committed to supporting access to information that advances justice and public safety.  While this material was originally supported by Federal grant funding, NDAA recognizes the continued value of these resources to prosecutors, other criminal justice practitioners, researchers, and the public. As such, we have chosen to keep these materials freely available.
