1. Purpose and Scope

The National District Attorneys Association ("NDAA") is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and professional learning environment for all participants - including attendees, speakers/faculty, sponsors/exhibitors, volunteers, and staff - at all NDAA events (in-person and virtual) and in the course of engagement on official NDAA platforms.

2. Eligibility to Participate

NDAA events (including webinars, conferences, training courses) are intended for multidisciplinary stakeholders within the prosecutor’s office and broader criminal justice system including:
•    Prosecutors
•    Law enforcement professionals
•    Investigators
•    Administrative professionals
•    Victim/witness professionals
•    Other allied professionals whose duties directly support the work of prosecutors (Such as social workers       and other community-based organizations)

NDAA reserves the final and sole discretion to determine eligibility to attend, present, purchase, or otherwise participate in NDAA programs and offerings. NDAA may deny, condition, or revoke participation at any time if eligibility criteria are not met or for violations of this Policy.

3. Code of Conduct: Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination

3.1 Commitment

NDAA maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct in any form. All participants must behave professionally and respectfully, refraining from any conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

3.2 Prohibited Conduct

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:


•    Harassment (verbal, written, visual, physical) targeting a person or group
•    Discrimination based on legally protected characteristics 
•    Sexual harassment (unwelcome sexual advances; requests for sexual favors; sexual comments or                  jokes; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome physical contact)
•    Bullying or abusive conduct (demeaning language, threats, insults, targeted humiliation)
•    Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation
•    Disruption of sessions, meetings, learning activities, or event operations
•    Inappropriate or unauthorized recording or photography of sensitive content (e.g., confidential case          details)
•    Alcohol- or drug-impaired behavior that endangers health or safety or disrupts the event
•    Possession of weapons in violation of venue rules or applicable law 


This Policy applies in all event spaces (session rooms, exhibit halls, social events, online platforms, chat functions, Q&A, breakout rooms, social media tied to the event, etc.).

3.3 Virtual and Hybrid Etiquette

Participants in virtual/hybrid settings must:


•    Use professional and respectful language in chat and Q&A
•    Avoid sharing offensive imagery or backgrounds
•    Follow moderator and host instructions
•    Respect confidentiality notices and any restrictions on recording/rebroadcast

4. Reporting, Response, and Enforcement

4.1 How to Report

If you experience or witness a violation:


•    Immediate Assistance (Onsite): Contact NDAA staff at the registration desk or the event operations              lead.
•    Assistance Online: Contact NDAA staff at the online event


Provide as much detail as possible (names, dates/times, location, description, witnesses, and any supporting materials).

4.2 NDAA Response

NDAA will promptly review reports and determine appropriate action, which may include:


•    Verbal or written warning
•    Removal from a session or activity
•    Revocation of event credentials without refund
•    Future event restrictions or bans
•    Notification to employer/agency as appropriate
•    Referral to venue security or law enforcement, where warranted


NDAA will handle reports professionally and as confidentially as feasible, consistent with the need to investigate and address the concern. Retaliation is strictly prohibited.

4.3 Appeals

Participants subject to enforcement actions may submit a written appeal to the Executive Director within 10 business days of notice. NDAA’s decision on appeal is final.

5. Accessibility, Accommodations, and Wellness

NDAA strives to make events accessible and inclusive for all. Participants needing reasonable accommodations (e.g., mobility, visual/hearing, dietary) should contact training@ndaajustice.org at least 14 days prior to the event. NDAA will work in good faith with venues and platforms to address requests.

6. Photography, Video, and Likeness Release

6.1 Consent and Use

By attending or participating in any NDAA event or activity (in-person or virtual), you grant NDAA a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to capture, use, reproduce, publish, livestream, broadcast, edit, distribute, and display your image, likeness, name, voice, and statements, in photography, audio, and video recordings, and in any media now known or hereafter developed, for educational, promotional, archival, and commercial purposes related to NDAA’s mission and programs.

6.2 No Expectation of Compensation 

You acknowledge that no compensation will be provided for such use, and that NDAA has discretion over editing and presentation.

6.3 Faculty/Presenter Recordings

Faculty/presenters understand sessions may be recorded or photographed and agree that NDAA may use session content in accordance with this Policy. Presenters must disclose any third-party copyrighted materials used in presentations and obtain necessary permissions.

7. Content Integrity and Confidentiality

•    Respect privacy and confidentiality notices, especially with case-related materials or victims’ information.
•    Do not share or publish sensitive content without explicit authorization.
•    Follow all lawful restrictions on disclosure applicable to your agency or jurisdiction.
•    NDAA may set session-specific rules (e.g., “no recording,” “no screenshots,” “materials not for                         redistribution”). Participants must comply.

8. Exhibitors, Sponsors, and Vendors

Exhibitors, sponsors, and vendors must comply with this Policy and any additional exhibitor/sponsor guidelines. Promotional materials and activities shall not be misleading or disruptive and must respect attendee privacy and eligibility requirements.

9. Data Protection and Communications

NDAA may collect and process participant data to administer events, ensure safety, and communicate updates, consistent with applicable laws and NDAA policies. Participants agree to receive event-related communications and understand NDAA may share necessary information with venues, platforms, or service providers to operate the event.

10. Violations of Law

Conduct that may violate the law (e.g., assault, harassment, stalking, threats) may be referred to venue security or law enforcement. NDAA will cooperate as required.

11. Reservation of Rights

NDAA reserves the right to modify programs, schedules, speakers, and formats; to refuse, revoke, or limit credentials; and to close sessions or platforms as needed to ensure safety, legal compliance, and program integrity.

12. Acceptance of Policy

By registering for, purchasing, attending, presenting at, or otherwise participating in NDAA events or products, you acknowledge and agree to this Policy.
