Prosecutor Advocacy

Through continued advocacy, engagement with criminal justice stakeholders, and solicitation of ideas and input from our members, the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) provides the prosecutor perspective on issues including human trafficking, traffic safety, drug policy, forensic science, domestic violence, electronic evidence, asset forfeiture, child abuse, juvenile justice and many more.

Each Congress, NDAA establishes its policy priorities which come     directly from our membership. At the beginning of the Congressional   session we announce our initiatives and push for sound legislation   that focuses on promoting public safety and justice. In the second   year of a Congressional session, we strategically review our efforts,   the political landscape, and focus on what can be achieved in the   second session. NDAA's priorities are unveiled and updated at our   annual Prosecutor Advocacy Conference held in Washington D.C. each   winter. For the 119th Congress (2025-2026) NDAA's priorities include:   Prosecutor Recruitment & Retention, Supporting Victims of Crime,   Combating Illicit Drugs, Curbing Organized Retail Crime, and           Promoting Online Child Safety.

As part of our commitment to keep prosecutors informed and empowered, NDAA provides timely, in‑depth updates on priority legislation as it advances through the legislative process.

This year, we are excited to enhance our member engagement through a series of informative webinars, designed to delve deeper into these crucial hot topics. To leverage the power of collective advocacy, NDAA regularly partners with law enforcement associations and others in the criminal justice space to ensure that the voices of district attorneys & prosecutors are heard and the pursuit of truth and justice is valued in the halls of Congress.

NDAA is happy to provide assistance in setting up meetings for prosecutors visiting Washington, DC. To contact Members of Congress and their staff virtually, NDAA’s Locate Your Legislator tool provides a state-by-state view of the key staff for your Congressional delegation.
