Join your national prosecution community July 19–20, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla in San Diego! NDAA’s Annual Conference will explore how purposeful leadership, strong teams, and meaningful partnerships can help prosecution offices serve their communities and advance the public good. Prosecution is a shared undertaking. It depends on the judgment and commitment of people across an office—and on relationships with victims, witnesses, communities, public agencies, businesses, universities, and service providers. Together, we’ll examine how offices can bring those strengths together to meet complex public-safety needs. Who Attends?NDAA’s Annual Conference brings together people from across the prosecution community. Prosecution and the Power of Connection
People. Partnerships. The Public Good.
NDAA invites session proposals for its 2027 Annual Conference, July 19–20, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla in San Diego, California.
Prosecution depends on the judgment and commitment of people across an office—and on relationships with victims, witnesses, communities, public agencies, businesses, universities, and service providers. The conference will explore how offices can connect that expertise, build purposeful partnerships, and serve the public good.
We’re seeking sessions that address real questions facing prosecution offices and offer useful insight for people doing the work. Proposals should help us understand what attendees need to learn, which challenges deserve attention, and what approaches they can take back to their offices and communities.
Proposals are due November 6, 2026.
Submit by email to: Sasha Sencer, ssencer@ndaajustice.org
Email subject line: 2027 NDAA Annual Conference - Session Proposal - [Proposed Session Title] - [Lead Presenter Last Name]
What makes a strong proposal?
A strong proposal identifies a specific challenge, question, or practice; explains why it matters now; and describes what attendees will learn or be able to apply. We welcome practical case studies, tested approaches, candid lessons learned, emerging issues, and research-informed perspectives.
Sessions should be useful to professionals across prosecution offices of different sizes and structures. They may focus on internal office practice, work with external partners, or both. Proposals should show how the session connects to the conference theme, but they do not need to fit neatly within a single topic area listed below.
Areas of interest
These areas reflect current program priorities and are intended to guide—not limit—proposals.
Prosecutorial Judgment and Public Understanding
Explaining prosecutorial discretion, decisions, and priorities; communicating the principles and responsibilities that guide an office’s work; and supporting public understanding.
Community Relationships and Responsive Service
Building meaningful community connections, drawing on local knowledge, and supporting victims, witnesses, and the public through clear communication and responsive service.
Strategic Planning, Priority Setting, and Whole-Office Collaboration
Setting office-wide goals and coordinating the expertise of prosecutors, investigators, advocates, analysts, administrators, and other staff to advance shared priorities.
Workload, Capacity, and Sustainability
Aligning priorities with available resources; developing and retaining talent; sharing institutional knowledge; and sustaining strong performance over time.
Public-Private and Cross-Sector Partnerships
Working with businesses, public agencies, universities, service providers, and community organizations around clear roles and shared public-safety goals.
Leadership, Professional Excellence, and Public Confidence
Developing leadership across the office, mentoring colleagues, sharing effective practices, and representing the work of prosecution with clarity and credibility.
Data, Technology, and Public Value
Using data and technology to support professional expertise, inform priorities, improve practice, and communicate meaningful contributions to public safety and justice.
