NDAA's

2026 Leadership Conference
December 1-3, 2026 | Scottsdale, AZ

Leading with Clarity in Complex Times

Leadership in prosecution has never been more complex.

Today's leaders are expected to navigate rapid change, build healthy office cultures, communicate under public scrutiny, manage increasingly diverse teams, and make decisions that shape both organizational performance and public trust.

The most effective leaders understand how to exercise sound judgment, build trust, communicate clearly, and translate leadership principles into lasting organizational practice.

NDAA's 2026 Leadership Academy is designed to help leaders develop those capabilities.

This is not a management seminar built around abstract leadership theory. It is a practical leadership development experience created specifically for prosecutors and prosecution professionals who are responsible for leading people, shaping culture, and guiding organizations through complex challenges.

Participants will learn from experienced prosecutor leaders, executive directors, judges, communications professionals, and organizational experts who have navigated many of the same leadership challenges facing prosecution offices today.

What You Will Do in This Program

Throughout the program, you will:

  • Strengthen leadership judgement and decision-making in complex environments
  • Build strategies for creating healthy organizational culture grounded in trust and accountability
  • Explore approaches for leading diverse teams and developing future leaders
  • Develop communication strategies for navigating change, public attention, and media scrutiny
  • Translate leadership principles into organizational practice that lasts beyond the training
  • Examine emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and their influence leadership and decision-making.

A Leadership Journey Built Around Three Core Questions

Day 1: Leadership Foundations

How do leaders develop judgement, values, and responsibility?

The first day examines the personal foundations that influence leadership decisions. Participants will explore leadership lessons learned, ethical responsibility, values-based decision-making, and the impact leaders have on the people and systems around them.

Day 2: Leadership in Practice

How do leaders influence culture, teams, and public trust?

Leadership extends far beyond supervision. Participants will examine how leader shape organizational culture, build public trust, support diverse teams, navigate change, and communicate effectively under public and media scrutiny.

Day 3: Leadership in Action

The final day focuses on implementation. Participants will explore how leadership principles are translated into systems, practices, and organizational behaviors that endure long after the training ends.

A Room Built for Prosecutor Leaders

One of the most valuable aspects of the Leadership Academy is the opportunity to learn alongside peers from across the country.

Participants will engage with leaders facing many of the same challenges – recruitment and retention, culture development, succession planning, public accountability, organizational change, and workforce engagement – while gaining practical insights from offices of different sizes, structures, and jurisdictions.

The conversations that happen between sessions often become just as valuable as the formal curriculum.
