NDAA's

 2026 Forensic Evidence Conference

September 1-3, 2026 | Colorado Springs, CO

From Evidence Overload to Evidentiary Clarity: Interpreting, Challenging, and Using Complex Evidence in High-Stakes Cases

Modern prosecutions are no longer defined by a lack of evidence.

They are increasingly shaped by overwhelming volumes of forensic, digital, biological, and testimonial information that can strengthen a case—or create significant strategic risk when misunderstood, overstated, or poorly integrated into the broader case narrative.

Prosecutors are often asked to make critical decisions in environments where evidence appears highly technical, scientifically persuasive, and increasingly complex.

Determining what evidence actually means—and what can be clearly explained, strategically defended, and credibly presented—is becoming one of the central prosecutorial challenges in modern litigation.

Recognizing risk—and building cases that remain coherent and defensible under scrutiny—is essential. NDAA’s 2026 Forensic Evidence Conference is designed to support that work.

This is not a traditional forensic science overview program. It is a practical, prosecutor-focused training built around how prosecutors evaluate, interpret, challenge, prioritize, and strategically use complex evidence in real-world prosecutions—across investigation, charging decisions, admissibility strategy, and trial presentation.

Participants will examine how evidentiary decisions shape case theory, how competing interpretations emerge from the same evidence, and how to build cases that remain clear and credible—even when evidence is technically complex, conflicting, or overwhelming in volume.

What You Will Do in This Program

This program combines targeted instruction with practical application so participants can move beyond evidence accumulation and into disciplined evidentiary strategy.

Throughout the program, you will:

  • Evaluate the reliability, relevance, and defensibility of forensic and digital evidence

  • Identify evidentiary risks associated with overstatement, competing interpretations, and evidence overload

  • Develop clearer prosecutorial strategies for prioritizing and presenting evidence in high-stakes cases

  • Assess admissibility challenges involving evolving forensic and digital evidence standards

  • Strengthen expert witness preparation and courtroom communication strategies

  • Translate complex forensic evidence into narratives juries can understand and trust

But just as important as the content is the room.

A Room Built for Strategic Case Development

This program is designed for prosecutors and multidisciplinary professionals actively handling evidence-heavy prosecutions.

Participants learn alongside peers from across the country, examining how different offices approach similar evidentiary challenges—what strengthens a case, what creates risk, and how prosecutors make strategic decisions when evidence becomes increasingly complex or conflicting.

Sessions emphasize practical application, connecting evidentiary interpretation, admissibility strategy, and prosecutorial decision-making to how cases are ultimately presented in court.

You will not just hear about forensic evidence.
You will examine how prosecutors evaluate it, challenge it, defend it, and communicate it strategically under real litigation conditions.
