NDAA Internship Opportunities
Spring, Summer & Fall Availability
The National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) is the oldest and largest national organization representing state and local prosecutors, serving a membership of more than 7,000 prosecutors nationwide. Our work spans policy and advocacy, professional training and education, technology and emerging-issues programming, member services, and communications.
A semester-long internship at NDAA offers a substantive, hands-on experience for students interested in criminal justice, public policy, association management, communications, or law. Interns work directly with staff across departments, contribute to real deliverables, and gain exposure to how a national membership organization supports the prosecutorial community. The activities below reflect the range of work an intern may undertake; specific assignments are tailored to the intern's interests, academic background, and the organization's priorities during the semester.
- Monitor federal legislation, regulatory developments, and congressional activity relevant to prosecutors, and prepare concise summaries and tracking updates for staff and committees.
- Conduct legal and policy research on emerging criminal justice issues and draft background memos, issue briefs, and talking points.
- Support the work of NDAA's substantive committees (for example, the Legislative and Cyber & Technology committees) by compiling materials and drafting meeting agendas and summaries.
Technology & Emerging Issues - Research emerging technology topics affecting prosecution—such as artificial intelligence, digital evidence, cybercrime, and data privacy—and help translate developments into practical guidance for members.
- Support the Cyber & Technology Committee's programming, including preparing briefing materials and background research ahead of meetings.
- Contribute to resources that help prosecutors navigate new tools and evidentiary challenges.
- Support member outreach and engagement efforts, including helping maintain member and committee directories.
