Live Webinar: Wellbeing Webinar: Stopping the Spin by Using Skills to Reduce Rumination

December 8, 2026

2:00 - 3:15 pm EST

75-minute presentation

Humans’ capacity for abstract thinking and compassion allows us to step into seemingly impossible scenarios to offer assistance. That same capacity, however, often results in us carrying the stress from one situation into the next, diminishing our ability to serve in the present because we are swimming in thoughts from the past. Thankfully, with the application of certain skills, we can stop this spin to quiet those ruminations and enhance our capacity for higher-order thinking and empathy in the present. This webinar will describe the Reducing Rumination skill domain of the Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT) model developed by Brian Miller, Ph.D and offer on-the-job strategies to disrupt the ruminative cycle.
