From initial offense through closing argument, an effective trial strategy relies on turning extracted digital artifacts into a clear, compelling, and undeniable case narrative. In this live demonstration, see how Magnet Review, Portable Case, Mobile View, and Verify tools empower prosecutors and investigators to seamlessly find, analyze, and collaborate on key digital artifacts. The demonstration will show how location records, messages, media files, and user-attribution artifacts can be selected and exported as clear, compelling courtroom exhibits, and how Mobile View can present mobile evidence in a native format that juries can readily understand. Attendees will also see how Magnet Verify examines file structure and provenance to help determine whether an image or video is consistent with a camera-original file, has been reprocessed, or contains indicators of synthetic media. Together, these tools provide a coordinated and auditable workflow from initial case review through discovery, witness preparation, and trial.

Presenter:
Justin Fitzsimmons is the Technical Prosecution Lead at Magnet Forensics and a part-time Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cyber Crime Unit in Lake County, Illinois. For over sixteen years, he has trained law enforcement, prosecutors, and criminal justice professionals across the country and internationally on digital evidence, child exploitation, and trial advocacy. A former full-time prosecutor in Illinois, Justin has contributed to national working groups, published on emerging threats and courtroom strategies, and served ten years on the board of the National Children’s Alliance, including as board president. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
