The American Prosecutors Research Institute
(APRI) and the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) are pleased to present this
third edition, in an electronic and searchable format, of the National
Directory of Prosecutor-Based Victim and Witness Assistance Programs. This
is the first update of the Directory since it was published with OVC support
in 1987 and listed approximately 400 programs. Since then much has changed.
Most prosecutors’ offices have developed victim/witness assistance
programs and the array of assistance services has expanded significantly.
This Directory is designed to aid prosecutors and victim/witness advocates
in their efforts to assist victims and witnesses and to promote networking
and technical assistance among prosecutor-based programs nationwide.
The Directory contains contact information for
more than 1,250 prosecutors’ offices and their victim/witness
assistance programs as well as a summary of the core services that are
provided by the offices to victims and witnesses of crime. At this time,
the database can be searched by state. |
