Horseback Rides
Two-Hour Trail Ride: We’ll show you Snowmass Mountain from the saddle. Two-hour trail rides include beautiful scenery and some great peaceful time in the mountains. Tours begin at 10:00, 12:30, and 3:00. You should arrive at the stables 15 minutes before your ride.
Hot Air Balloon Rides
There are few pleasures as grand as a hot air balloon ride. Drift slowly over the earth in an open basket as you view the Rockies from above. It’s romantic! It’s breathtaking! It’s a journey that you will never forget! The balloon rides commence at dawn and finish with the traditional champagne toast.
Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing for wild trout in the unspoiled waters of western Colorado is an unforgettable experience not to be missed. The Aspen/Snowmass area, with the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan Rivers at its back door, is the center of the finest wild trout fishing in western Colorado. Both rivers are designated as gold medal rivers by the Colorado Department of Wildlife.
Historic & Cultural Options
Historical Tour of Aspen: As the docents at the historical society always boast, there is more to Aspen than what you read about in People Magazine. Join guides from Blazing Adventures and the Aspen Historical Society to learn about the special people who founded our silver mining industry, our ski industry and our cultural heritage. The trip includes a visit to the Wheeler/Stallard House, a walking tour of the Victorian West End and the restored Hotel Jerome.
Panoramic Photo Shoot: Award winning photographer, Susan G. Drinker, will share some important tips about using a panoramic format and demonstrate the techniques that have earned her international recognition. Sue’s images have been published in many magazines including National Geographic, Smithsonian and Outdoor Photographer. Under Sue’s guidance each participant will have the opportunity to try out some new skills. This seminar includes camera, prints, lecture and individualized instruction in the field. Each participant will receive the 15 photos they take with comments from Sue.
Explore the Bells: Someone told you not to leave Aspen without a peek at the Maroon Bells. Here’s a chance for you to take a photo of the most photographed peaks in North America. Blazing Adventures and ACES guides will accompany you on the ride out to the Bells. Along the way you’ll hear about the famous (or infamous) avalanches in the Maroon Creek Valley and see the evidence they leave. During the tour, our naturalists from ACES will provide commentary and guide the walk around the lake. We’ll enjoy a snack of fruit and bread at the foot of the Bells.
Dinner Options
Sunset Dinner & Four-Wheel Drive Tour: An evening of Colorado mountain fun, beginning with a four-wheel drive tour into the high country finishing with a full course country style dinner in one of the Aspen area’s most scenic settings. An experience that you do not want to miss! This activity includes a jeep tour, dinner, campfire and live music.
Crystal Palace Dinner Theater, Satirical Musical Revue: Blazing Adventures will pick up a group at 6:15 p.m. for an evening on the town in Aspen. You’ll experience one of our most famous establishments at a showing of the Crystal Palace Dinner Theater. The concept of a satirical, musical revue started in Aspen in 1957. Every year since then, director and producer Mead Metcalf has been entertaining his audience with wit and humor.
