By Tom Weilert, Assistant Director of Programs
October 14 to 18, 2006, the National College of District Attorneys will present the Executive Program in Park City, Utah, a world class mountain resort and home of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Executive Program is designed for elected and appointed prosecutors and their policy making assistants. The five-day course will include presentations and discussion workshops aimed at helping attendees achieve their ultimate goal of doing justice.
There will be presentations on topics including: Leadership and Management Styles, Ethics and Professionalism, Media Relations, Training, Civil Liability, Employment and Personnel Issues, Community Involvement, Office Technology, Police/Prosecutor Relations, Alternative Funding Sources and Prosecution Leadership.
Each day’s agenda will include discussion workshops which will allow prosecutors from all over the country to share ideas and information on the listed topics as well as any other issues of interest.
Salt Lake City International Airport provides non-stop service to 50 top destinations and boasted the best on-time performance for major airports in 2005. From there it is an easy drive along Interstate 80 to the Park City Marriott where the program will be held. The hotel, which sits at the bottom of one of three area ski destinations and near five scenic championship golf courses, provides comfortable meeting space as well as well-appointed accommodations and plentiful amenities. From the hotel it is only a short shuttle ride to historic downtown Park City to explore its history as a silver mining town founded by prospectors in the late 1860s.
Make your plans now to join NCDA and your fellow prosecutors in Park City for this informative program. For further information call 803.705.5005 or go to http://www.ndaa-apri.org/ncda/ncda_courses.php and click the link to the Executive Program.
