Course Will Focus on Caseload Issues
By Candace M. Mosley, Director of Programs
When the National College of District Attorneys relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, it brought with it years of experience and a history of excellence in prosecutorial training.
One of the college’s most popular and well-known courses, the Career Prosecutor Course, has been offered for 35 years, the last four in Charleston, South Carolina. This year it will be held at the Doubletree Guest Suites, which is just steps away from City Market, the Battery mansions, shopping and dining in the historic district.
This year, the focus of the course will be the current caseload issues of prosecutors around the country. Experienced faculty will discuss trial techniques; ethical concerns; dealing with media; charging considerations; prosecutor backlash; the visual trial; the latest Supreme Court decisions and their impact; supervisory and training issues; case management; and security issues to name a few. Prosecutors will have the opportunity to bring cases from their pending dockets, walk through each stage of trial preparation and practice time-tested strategies for more persuasive ways to present cases.
Those eligible to attend the Career Prosecutor Course include career prosecutors and those who have been selected by their offices.
Join us in Charleston and join us in continuing the college’s rich history in preparing America’s prosecutors.
