This letter urges the inclusion of a provision in the FEMA reform legislation which would provide critical resources to state and local criminal justice and community infrastructures expeditiously during times of disaster. The legislation would specifically authorize FEMA to direct disaster relief funding to the Bureau of Justice Assistance to expedite the funding distribution process during a major federal disaster.
