PAUL A. LOGLI, FORMER JUDGE AND VETERAN STATE’S ATTORNEY IN WINNEBAGO COUNTY IL – SWORN IN AS NEW PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL DISTRICT ATTORNEYS ASSOCIATION

PORTLAND, MAINE – July 18, 2005 –

WHO: The Honorable Paul A. Logli, State’s Attorney (District Attorney) in Winnebago County, IL

WHAT: Sworn in as President – from July, 2005 to July 2006 – of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) during NDAA’s annual summer conference taking place this year in Portland, ME

WHEN: Monday, July 18 at 12:30 p.m. to 2:00p.m.

WHERE: Holiday Inn by the Bay, Portland, ME – 207-775-2311

Paul A. Logli is sworn in as President of the NDAA. Logli is a former judge who subsequently has been serving as State’s Attorney (or District Attorney) in Winnebago County, IL for 22 years. When asked about becoming President of NDAA, Logli said, “I’m honored and humbled to be elected by my peers to this leadership position. After 9/11 – virtually all prosecutors face new challenges. Seeking truth and justice for victims of crime and accountability for criminals who commit crimes will always be our primary responsibility. Recent events in England remind us that our country is now at war with terrorists who have a senseless disregard for innocent lives. At the same time, we must be committed to provide security throughout the communities we serve. It is incumbent upon us to develop and implement programs that will keep our neighborhoods safe from crime and violence. I look forward to working with our nation’s prosecutors, state and federal law enforcement officials, legislators, the media, and people within our communities to find effective ways to reduce violent crime against all people, especially children. I’m thankful for the opportunity to lead NDAA in the year ahead.”
