NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING CENTER GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
TAKING PLACE AT WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY
ALEXANDRIA, VA October 5, 2006 The National District Attorneys Association’s (NDAA) National Child Protection Training Center (NCPTC) has been located at Winona State University for the past three years.
The University is holding a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the NCPTC at Maxwell Hall on Friday, October 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the Maxwell Leadership Center. Upon completion of renovating Maxwell Hall, Winona State will be the first university in America that has a state-of-the art facility to train students considering careers in child protection as well as thousands of child protection professionals.
“The protection of children is a priority to all prosecutors, and this new facility will provide incalculable help training child abuse professionals in America. We applaud the university for all of its efforts in making this dream a reality,” said Thomas J. Charron, Executive Director of NDAA.
Located in Alexandria, VA, NDAA provides training, technical assistance and research to prosecutors through its National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse (NCPCA). Together, both of these training centers help prosecutors, child advocates and other professionals learn how to better protect children and prosecute those who harm them.

The NDAA has over 7,000 members who represent approximately 30,000 prosecutors nationwide. More than 95% of all crimes committed in America are prosecuted by state and local prosecutors.
