PAUL A. LOGLIPRESIDENT ELECT OF THE NATIONAL DISTRICT ATTORNEYS ASSOCIATION TESTIFIES BEFORE CONGRESS CONCERNING GANGS
WASHINGTON, D.C. April 5, 2005 Paul A. Logli, President Elect of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) and State’s Attorney in Winnebago County Illinois, will testify before the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security at 2:00 p.m. This hearing will be held in Room 2141 at the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing will examine the growing national problem of gang violence and the bill introduced by Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA), H.R.1279, in response to the gang problem.
According to Logli, “Gangs and the related violence, drug manufacturing and trafficking they spawn are no longer confined to large urban areas. Unfortunately, gangs exist in large and small cities as well as in rural communities across America. It is the duty of all prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to work together to rid our nation of this horrific problem. I’m honored to be invited to provide my testimony and work with Members of Congress concerning this vital issue.”
The NDAA is the only national organization that represents state and local prosecutors. It has about 7,000 members in approximately 2,700 jurisdictions and represents around 30,000 prosecutors nationally. State and local prosecutors are responsible for trying more than 95% of all criminal cases in America.
