Home Run Hitters
Commonwealth’s Attorney Ray Larson (Lexington, KY, on left) and John Gill (special counsel, Knoxville, TN, on right) present Bob Honecker with the NDAA Home Run Hitters award.

Robert A. Honecker, Jr., former first assistant Monmouth County prosecutor and past vice president of NDAA, has joined the law firm of Ansell Zaro Grimm & Aaron in New Jersey. Bob Honecker proved the point that associate board members play a key role in NDAA. He co-chaired a number of board committees and helped plan several annual conferences. He lectured at the National College and the National Advocacy Center. He has been an outstanding trial lawyer in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and has worked with all parts of his community to make it a better place to live. He is an example for not only associate members but any member of the Board.

At the NDAA fall board meeting, Honecker was awarded the NDAA Home Run Hitters award for his outstanding service to the organization. (See photo.)

Harford County (Maryland) State’s Attorney and NDAA Board member Joe Cassilly was honored with the Legacy of Excellence in Litigation Award by the University of Baltimore School of Law. This is the fourth year the law school has presented the award. Cassilly was recognized at a presentation gala for his skill in the courtroom and innovation in the area of prosecution.

Former Pulaski County, Arkansas, prosecutor Mark Stodola was elected mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas, in November 2006. Stodola began his legal career as a public defender. He subsequently moved into private practice, and then back into the public spotlight as the Little Rock city attorney. In 1990, Stodola was elected Pulaski County Prosecutor, a position he held for three consecutive terms. In his prosecution days, Stodola served as a vice president of NDAA and was elected as a faculty advisor for the National College of District Attorneys. He was also recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice for his dedication to diversion and prevention programs for at-risk youth. NDAA wishes Little Rock Mayor Stodola much success.

Suzanne Craig, prosecuting attorney for Twin Falls County, Idaho, received the Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association’s 2006 Idaho Prosecutor of the Year Award. Her career in Twin Falls County began in 1997 with misdemeanor cases, and she became a felony attorney just a year later. Craig was promoted in 2000 to senior deputy prosecuting attorney, and then again in 2002 to chief criminal deputy.
