Come join us in Orlando as we celebrate victories achieved by grass roots efforts that have been successful in spreading awareness, embracing victim autonomy and increasing perpetrator accountability. We will look at cutting edge techniques designed to enhance traditional investigative, pre trial and evidence presentation methods. We will also look at the impact the entertainment industry has had on developing biases with our prospective fact finders in these cases. Learn successful strategies from our experienced faculty in overcoming these mindsets and utilizing our community resources to redress misinformation and implement proactive strategies for “myth busting” and increased education.

Reclaiming our Lives…Revealing our Secrets

This year’s conference will also focus on the devastating impact Domestic Violence has not only on the most obvious victims of its wrath, but also on the least suspecting and the most vulnerable -- our children. While we will address issues pertinent to all victims of DV and the services, initiatives and programs in place to assist them, we would be remiss if we did not listen to the voices of these young causalities of the war against DV. We will look at the impact this violence has on child survivors of DV. Whether these small ears heard the violence, their tiny eyes saw the terror, or their bodies felt the direct impact of physical violence; we will examine how this exposure has reshaped their lives. We will have an opportunity to learn from them what we all can do differently to be mindful of future generations of crusaders in our battle.

Please Note that this year’s Conference will begin on SATURDAY, October 27th and end on Halloween day! Come early to take advantage of optional Friday evening early registration so you are rested and energized for Saturday morning’s welcome and opening keynote! Showcases, which include state-of-the-art Domestic Violence initiatives, will be held on Wednesday morning.
